All,
Mr. Aghassi (unrelated to Andre Agassi) is a guest lecturer speaking at the IC tomorrow night at 7:30. The topic will be Human Rights in Islam. Mr. Aghassi has a PhD in Law and another degree in philosophy, and I've heard the only source he references is the Quran (don't hold me to that).

Anyways, 7:30, tomorrow, at the IC (Islamic Center: 2111 E. Nees)!

I realize this is late (in true middle east fashion no less), but Happy Eid to everyone.  Hope your Ramadan was fulfilling and went by smoothly.

Serve lunch at Poverello House: Sunday 8/21

Bonjour MAC! (I don't speak French)

This Sunday MAC is serving and sponsoring lunch at the Poverello house. Come help out and show your support for the needy. There's an old saying that says "for every 40 camels, donate one to the needy." Here's our chance to finally give camels to the needy!!

Here's how it'll go down. We'll meet at the Islamic Center aka IC (2111 E Nees, Fresno CA) at 11am on Sunday morning and then drive down to the Poverello House to be there at 11:30. Lunch is served until 12:30, and we should be out of there by 1 o'clock or earlier. It's low key and easy work. Just show up and visit with your long lost MAC friends while contributing to a good cause!

Part of a balanced breakfast

Iftar coming soon

Yes, it's almost 3 o'clock and I'm already salivating. MAC is planning on doing Iftar for Ramadan so stay tuned for the next meeting/gnoshing session. Should be delicious, and maybe sometime in the next week or two.

For some motivation (look on the bright side!), check out the picture of the awesome looking Iftar I had a couple nights ago. Mmm mmm delicious.
